This is a service for injecting drug users to help limit the spread of viruses such as HIV and Hepatitis B and C. Drug users are issued with needle and syringe packs in return for old needles and syringes. The pharmacist can also encourage the use of other drug addiction services and facilitate referrals to other agencies where appropriate.
